Umenie spomaliť

Christmas is over, we’ll soon be celebrating 2021. It’s hard to believe how fast twelve months have passed, what has happened in that time, and how our lives in many areas have turned one hundred and eighty degrees. Many things have happened that no one will want to repeat again; but on the other hand, thanks to that we also learned something — that there’s nothing greater than selfless help, we began to appreciate more time spent with family and loved ones, how lucky we are to live in a world where we can connect with people who are hundreds of kilometers from us with three clicks. We began to value core values, friendship and love more.
If there is one thing we should carry with us to the new year, it’s the art of slowing down. We’ve spent a lot more time at home since March than anyone would ever think; and even though we used the days off to do great cleaning, baking, learning new things, or reading, many have learned to live slower. Work stress disappeared, mountains of duties fell away and we stopped being in a hurry.

A slow lifestyle is not the same as doing nothing. It doesn’t mean that you will wake up after twelve o’clock and spend the whole day watching Netflix. Although even such days are necessary — to indulge in time just for yourself, forget about the world around you and take a good rest. But a slow lifestyle still allows us to be productive and fulfill all the necessary tasks, while offering exactly what we are all looking for in life.
Why do we have the idea that someone who works from morning to night, constantly answers messages and phone calls and has every day filled to the last minute, is successful and should be a role model for others? We let ourselves be “inspired” by those who hurry somewhere all day and chase the results and completed charts. We place high demands and expectations on ourselves and we are disappointed when we cannot meet them.

Slow living brings many benefits. First and foremost, it teaches you better attention — because you will always focus on only one task and give yourself enough time to complete it, your attention will be better and nothing will distract you. Slowness also improves patience. Many responsibilities take more time, and by allowing yourself to slow down and not being rushed, you will approach things more patiently. In addition, it brings a feeling of peace and inner harmony, and there are also benefits in the form of improved sleep, a cool head when dealing with unexpected and complicated situations or more time for hobbies and things you like.
Learning to live slower takes time and patience. It’s not something you can do in one day. It’s a continuous process, dozens of small decisions, rejection. Regular breaks, time for yourself, self-love. We’ll deal with the topic of slow being in even more articles, as this is an area where we also have something to learn.

Ale pomalý životný štýl stále dovoľuje byť produktívny a splniť všetky potrebné úlohy, a zároveň ponúka presne to, čo všetci v živote hľadáme.
Prečo máme predstavu, že ten, kto pracuje od rána do večera, neustále odpovedá na správy a telefonáty a má každý deň zaplnený do poslednej minúty, je úspešný a mal by byť vzorom pre ostatných? Nechávame sa “inšpirovať” tými, ktorí sa celé dni niekam ponáhľajú a naháňajú výsledky a splnené tabuľky. Kladieme na seba vysoké požiadavky a očakávania a sme sklamaní, keď ich nedokážeme splniť.

Pomalé žitie so sebou prináša mnoho výhod. Mnohé povinnosti vyžadujú viac času a tým, že dovolíte samým sebe spomaliť a nebude vás nič hnať, k veciam budete pristupovať trpezlivejšie.
